I'm sorry I haven't been around the entire summer, so much for that idea - haha. But this is a short post. Big exciting news! I got a job with the sports department at Clark :) YAY! So these are my first few games.

I'm kind of frustrated with my camera/lens though. I really want to make my pictures better but everything is just so expensive. But that's the only way I'm going to get better, I don't know. I'm looking into a few things so hopefully I will be making a purchase soon :)

Hello everyone :) So it is getting close to the end of the semester, wow. But make sure to keep checking over the summer because I'm sure I will be posting! I'm not sure what but I will be, haha. I'm sure there will be some of Ange and Taylor and the Pioneers at least. And in the next week or so I will try to post some of the better dance ones, but the lighting on stage is so sad and ugh. But I submitted lots of pictures to the Clark yearbook, who knew we had a Clark yearbook? Lol. But Liz, from dance - I don't talk about myself in third person - looked at my book the other day and said that the yearbook was looking for pictures so I sent them some sports ones, dance ones, and other random ones. And then I was like oh well you probably don't really need sports because you have the athletic department for that but they said they don't have any sports pictures from them yet because they're refusing to cooperate so mine might be in it! YAY! With my name and everything. Fun times :) We will see I guess. But I thought that was kind of exciting. But yes my book finally came in! It's so pretty. I'm thinking about getting another one printed on better paper so it's all pretty. This one I have now is to show people because people aren't very careful with it :/ grrr. But I anticipated that so I planned ahead. Anyways, I need to get going. I'm packing more stuff for tomorrow because I'm sending lots home hopefully. Mom, Dad, Alex and maybe even Ange (:O surprised face) are coming to my show tomorrow night along with Kate, Noreena, Caren, Claire, and Jenna. Then Saturday Laura and Karissa are coming and I believe Kate, Heather and Dave are as well. It'll be fun. I'm taking the solo shots for that tonight. We'll see how that goes. We're going to do them outside by the pretty tulips, haha. Yay :) So to sum this entry up - I am going to keep using this blog for the future so keep checking :)

some random photos :) lots of dance - our group shot and some from last night. I haven't edited them yet so don't judge them too harshly. the light in the kneller is difficult to work with. ugh, it's very frustrating. but I tried. I wanted to get some cute ones for the slideshow and just in general. I started going through them last night and they're kind of dark but on the back of the camera the little color bars reached all the way to the right so it should be good? we'll see I guess, not that I know when I'm going to edit those. and then there's the picture of my little mouse friend! I know last semester Rick also took pictures of the small mouses but I couldn't resist, haha. and then there's Alex and Kate and Noreena, yay. the wonderful portraits I took of them. so that's what I've been up to :)

http://www.blurb.com/bookstore/detail/1291111

so this is my book, yay! sorry I didn't get around to posting it earlier, don't look too much - I don't want you to ruin the surprise when it actually comes in. so I made it so you can only see the first 15 pages, haha. anyways, it looks really cool - I'm very excited to see it. and I edited it millions of times so I'm really hoping there aren't any mistakes :/ I hope there aren't. but I'm so much less stressed now that it's done, now I just have to wait for it to get here with our stupid mailroom, ugh. oh well. what else is new... yesterday I took lots of dance photos - lots and lots. so I have to edit those. and I also have to go back and edit all my friends/family pictures so I can print them for people. I'm so excited to have pictures to print that people actually want, haha. no one ever really wants my sports pictures. except Kate, she said we could hang them on our wall, haha. but we chose the big e one instead, I like it there. it's so pretty. moving on - tomorrow I am also going to Marcus' tennis match to take pictures, hopefully I can get inside the fence. and then I will be taking more dance pictures tomorrow night and throughout hell week next week. fun times. I'll be good though, I like dance pictures. everyone asked if I counted those in the sports ones and put them in but I didn't. I felt like they didn't really fit, sadly. and I didn't really have that many either so it was kind of odd. but everyone at dance wants to see it so I'm hoping it comes in soon so I can bring it one day next week. I really just want to see it, haha. I'm so excited. so I think that's about it that's been going on. I'm just going to post a few photos, yay. but I'm going to put them in a separate post :)

If you go to this site there's a pdf file on the right hand side you can click on and open which is their April Newsletter but it only has the picture and doesn't say much. They took a picture of me yesterday with the tickets when I went to get them so they're supposed to put that with my picture somewhere online? I can't seem to find it though. Maybe someone else will have better luck? Or maybe they haven't put it up yet?

Fun Easter pictures :) YAY

So this is Clark Boys Lacrosse. These are my best three in my opinion and the ones I submitted to the Scarlet. They put in the team shot and the one of number 13. But everyone really liked these ones and I think they actually came out better than I had anticipated. It was a lot easier to see the ball than I thought it would be. In the pictures I mean, it wasn't easier to see it while I was taking them. It was a very fast paced game. But I think I did pretty good. I did an Agawam Girls Lacrosse game last week as well but I haven't edited those yet. But the way the game was played was completely different. I really wasn't expecting that much of a difference. And where this game was at 5pm the girls game was at 11 in the morning so obviously the lighting situation was very different in both sets. It is also easier to see the girls' faces because they only wear goggles which is kind of nice. But I will hopefully have those pictures for you next week in class and on my blog - we will see. I also shot the baseball game Tuesday but I'll be editing those sometime this next week too - those are hopefully going to be in the Scarlet Thursday. It just upsets me because I don't think I did as well in this game as the last game and those weren't in the paper but these ones will be.

In other news, I tried the Mondrian cover idea Frank gave me. Basically the idea is to see how shapes and colors fit together so I just used squares/rectangles and fit them together with a little bit of black in between and a black border around the edge. I worked on it this afternoon a bit with Claire and then just now Noreena helped me too. It just feels really helpful to have someone to bounce ideas off of and even if it's just simple things. I've been asking Anna a lot in class lately because we usually end up editing next to each other and she's been very helpful :) It's just so hard sometimes because they all look the same after a while and it's hard to tell which are better than others. But everyone in class Wednesday decided I'm going to take my contact sheets to the sports department and ask if they'll hire me next semester, Frank said he'd find the contact information for me. So that's exciting. And Nina just posted something on my facebook about a youth sports day that they're looking for a photographer for. But back to life, my book is coming along nicely I guess. I've decided I think I just want to mix all the sports in but I still have lots of work to do. I really need to work on my statement and such. But I think I will be heading to the lab tomorrow morning before Gala practice. Hopefully we won't be kept late at Gala tonight, as of right now - we're scheduled to be on stage at 1 :O ahhh, unacceptable. Okay, I'm going to go now :) I want to do a fun Easter post...

Saturday, April 3, 2010

So tomorrow is easter, actually it will be easter in approximately 6 minutes however festivities for us will not begin until 10. Hopefully everything goes well tomorrow and it's a nice day and happy moods and just relaxing. And hopefully I will have some cute pictures of family and my little cousins to show afterwards. I'm excited to actually take pictures of people, well I do take pictures of people obviously but people I actually know and can show the picture too and will be excited. You know? It's a different kind of rewarding. Anyways, this week I shot lacrosse, or at least attempted lacrosse. I shot a Clark boys game Wednesday night and a high school girls game Friday morning. And those are the only two lacrosse games I'm going to be able to shoot before putting my book together so I'm really hoping they came out good. This Tuesday there are lots of games at Holy Cross but I'm not sure if all their athletic fields are close to each other or on campus - I've learned not to assume these things (ie the Becker soccer field and the Clark softball field). But there's a Clark baseball game as well so we will see what I decide to do. I've decided after I'm done with my book I'm going to start taking dance pictures again because by that point the dances should be almost done and everyone will be synchronized hopefully. So that'll be fun. There was something else I said I was going to take pictures of... I'm not really sure. I still have to take a picture of Kate and Noreena (!) sometime this week. And hopefully in the next couple weeks we'll have time to take walks and whatnot but who knows - things are going to be busy. So I'm trying to decide what to do for the summer - I've been shooting pictures of family/friends in both jpeg and raw formats. However, obviously I'm still getting the hang of shutter speed/aperture for actual portraits/candids so they're not wonderful yet - they need lots of editing. But either way, at the moment - for the summer I will be without an editing program so I'm not sure what I should do. We had been talking in class about prices Photoshop Elements or CS4 and I know my camera came with some software so I'm not sure what I should do. I don't want to go the entire summer without it. Hmm... I guess I will look into my options more ... my birthday's coming up ;) haha. But I am going to go now. I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend enjoying the nice weather :)

ps: sorry I don't have any pictures for you but I haven't edited anything from the lacrosse games obviously. I will post when I do :) they will also be in the paper again, yay

Tuesday, March 30, 2010

Hello world. How is everyone? I'm doing better even though the rain is ruining everything, ugh. It better not be raining tomorrow for the lacrosse game, unacceptable. So last night I officially started putting my book together, I decided it's going to be 13x11 hardcover with a single photo on the front - except I haven't made up my mind about which photo or a title. And then I condensed my fall sports into about 20 pages I believe but that means on some pages there are multiple smaller pictures but I tried to make them the not really good ones. I tried to put all the really good ones big. But I don't know, because they're small. But if I put one picture on every page that's A LOT of pages and that's boring as well. I don't know, but it's easier than I thought so I'm a little less stressed about it now. I really like their software because they give you layouts but then you can edit them any way you want if necessary, which is very nice. But if anyone has any title ideas? Hm? I can only think of cheesy ones, incredibly cheesy ones like "For the Love of the Game", "Get Your Head in the Game", "Passion", "Determination" - I basically have no idea. I keep thinking of song lyrics or movie quotes and I don't think that works very well. But I'm going to continue working and we'll see how it goes I guess. But I can also move the pages around in whatever order I want even after I put them together so if I decide to not organize it by season I can change that later. Because not many people answered my questions when I posed them but I talked to Dad and Kate about the organization of them and we all came to the conclusion that I could make the separate seasons work. So I'm trying that-kind of like we did for yearbook except not.

Moving on...These baseball and softball pictures are from not this past weekend but the weekend before. These are just my favorites I think. The softball ones were in the paper but as I said in my last post, they didn't have room for the baseball ones. But I guess I did pretty okay? I just didn't get very many pictures of the outfield. There's not really much action out there to be honest. And if there is, it's kind of boring. There were a few, literally a few, diving catches or stuff like that but I wasn't on the right shutter speed or focused there or there were other players in the way - there are lots of factors that need to be precisely right for it to work out. But hopefully I will get the chance to try again if it ever stops raining when they're supposed to have games, ugh. But I am going to go now, either work on my book a bit more or get some other stuff done so I can work on it later tonight. That's the other nice thing - I can actually do it on my computer and it's one of those things that I can do late and night because it's fun and it doesn't make me fall asleep, haha. It's very convenient. Okay, adios personas :)

Sunday, March 28, 2010

I really don't have much to say this week. Or at least not a lot that I feel like posting. Most other weeks I love to ramble on and make really long entries that no one really enjoys reading. But unfortunately this weekend I just wasn't feeling very chipper. I still am not. So the baseball and softball shooting went well. I was in the Scarlet again - just the softball ones - which was kind of upsetting. But then Stephen emailed me and said he wanted to put the baseball ones in but they had to run an ad that couldn't be resized so they didn't have space. Sad times. But he was nice about it. But there's not much else to report.

It's spring! :) Anyways, that obviously means spring sports! And how excited am I to get outside and take pictures of new sports (as I'm sure everyone in my class is because they're tired of seeing basketball pictures, haha)! But yesterday I went to a softball game and I think I did... okay ... ish. It was more difficult than I had anticipated. But I tried. I think I got a few decent shots but we will see on Monday when I head to the lab to look them over. Sadly, I don't have time today because I'm going to more games - baseball and I believe that's it for now. But I didn't know for most softball games they play 2 in a row, one at 3 and one at 5. I mean I guess it makes sense to do less traveling but that's kind of odd. I wonder if baseball is the same? I actually stood in the fence though, I got special permission :) but I was careful, don't worry. I didn't get hit with any foul balls or anything. I don't know how the field today will be set up but I'll figure it out. I'm not really sure what a good softball/baseball shot is though. Obviously someone hitting the ball but what else... the pitcher pitching? someone sliding into a base - which didn't happen at all? someone in the outfield catching it - but that was kind of a boring shot? I have to look at some images I guess. I'm really not sure. But I always seem to put my own spin on things anyways so I guess it doesn't really matter. I don't conform completely. But moving on.

I officially started work on my book the other day. I didn't get very far because I don't have most of my images in the right size/format - so I have to do that before I can really start. But I have three major survey questions to pose. 1. Should I do the cover with one big picture on it instead of mostly black with a few small ones? I think I like the look of the one big one better but I don't know which one I would use...? 2. Any creative ideas for a title? 3. Should I organize the sports by sport, by season, by game, randomly, etc...? Because I have more good ones of some sports than others and would it look weird if I only had pictures from one volleyball game and they were all right next to each other? Or if I have a few good ones from one soccer game should I put them together or mix them all in so it doesn't look weird? I can't figure out if once I put my pages together I can move them around in the book. I decided I'm using the software they have to download because they have tons of layouts already made and it's easier that way and then all I have to do is resize my images in the lab and I can do everything on my own computer. I really need to get photoshop on my computer. Add that to the list. I should make a list. Let's see...

1. new longer, faster lens
2. monopod so I don't die trying to hold item number 1
3. photoshop CS4
4. (maybe) vertical holder thing
5. website
6. more memory cards

Wasn't that fun? Just reminds me of all the stuff I need. But let's be happy now. One of Kate's friends from home asked if I would photograph her wedding except she wants to see test shots which obviously I do not have because I've never shot a wedding before. I don't even know if I really could. Would I be good at it? Who knows. Well I am going to go because I have stuff to do before the game. Sorry this was so long, you know how I am - haha. Enjoy the sunshine! :)

Wednesday, March 10, 2010

Hi! So I wasn't sure if we were supposed to have a post this week but I decided I will anyways. I went to my cousin's basketball game the other night. I didn't get very many pictures because I actually sat down with my family and then Sofia (my little cousin) liked taking pictures too. She didn't quite grasp the concept but she kind of got it. She could press the button while she was
looking at it but she needed a little help, her fingers weren't strong enough. And then she got the idea of looking through the view finder. But I got a few good ish ones of my cousin. He's number 44 on the bottom left going for the block. And then these other pictures are of Alex, my boyfriend. He got his diploma in the mail the other day so we took some pictures. Since sadly he won't be walking. But this is what I've been doing with my week thus far. Or at least Monday. Today I'm hanging out with Laura and Karissa and we're hopefully going to take some pictures... maybe. Fun times. Anyways, I have to go get done now. Lost time - yay! :) Hope everyone is enjoying their break!

Thursday, March 4, 2010

Hi :) Is everyone excited for Spring Break?! YES! Even though it seems I'm going to have lots of work and other stuff so I will be plenty busy. I guess I wouldn't be myself if I wasn't though. But anyways. Back to actual photography stuff. I have decided for my final for class I want to make a book. Originally I was really excited to make an intense nicely printed large folio - however, I think I have changed my mind.

This is the website I would use to make it so I'd just have to layout everything and add some passionate writing - maybe a few inspirational quotes and then they'd print it for me and mail it. And you can even order extra copies in case anyone wanted one. Whoa, haha. But I think it would be cool. And to be honest - it does have a lot to do with the fact that it would be easier to show people. It's more intimate I think. I don't know. I think it would be cool. But that means I have to work intensely these next couple weeks to get really good pictures of spring sports so I have enough of a variety. And guess what - I found someone who can take me to the rowing... meets? So I have rowing, lacrosse, tennis hopefully, baseball and softball. It is going to be an eventful March and April. But I feel like maybe over break I'll start playing around with the software to get some of my pictures thus far layed out or maybe write some of stuff I'm going to put in or search for some fun quotes. I'm just really excited and I want to start right away. So we will see how that goes. That can be my late night project since I don't think I'm taking home my TV. But I am really excited :) YAY

Tuesday, February 23, 2010

So this is my photo in the gallery, isn't it exciting? And that's me, yay! I don't think I've posted a picture of me besides my little identification picture. Anyways, I just thought I would put this online because it's exciting. I got to go Saturday to see it and I'm going again this weekend with friends from school. So it's making me feel more confident about my pictures. However, I felt like my picture did not fit in at all. They got like 325 entries and only chose 60 and they chose mine. But I felt like all the other ones were very similar and mine stuck out like an oddball. But it still made me happy to see it on the wall! :) I ended up titling it "Determination" because I found this site online that explained how to title photos for galleries. I don't know, Alex, Noreena and Kate helped a lot. Kate and Noreena have been helping a lot with everything. I always ask them which ones to put in the Scarlet or on my blog or whatever else. But everyone has been really supportive in general. Especially my parents too :) which is good. I feel like it's brought us closer in a way. Because they always went to a lot of sports games and Ange's obviously and now I've been going with them or we've been talking about it. And I find it random that the two sports I ended up shooting the most are soccer and basketball which are both sports Ange played. But I really like soccer the best still. Even after shooting all these different sports I still prefer it.

And this other one is another photo I submitted that didn't make it into the show. However, since it's all nice and framed we decided to hang it up in our room :) It's above Kate's bed. But it looks very nice there and it makes me happy. I was thinking about framing a few more pictures and hanging them at the library over the summer or something. But I guess we will see. I don't know how interesting my sports pictures would be to other people and I don't have that many other ones. But it's a chance to hang them somewhere, they do it all the time and they know me so it's even better. I don't know. I just am getting really excited about all these possibilities and then I wonder if it's what I even should be focusing on. I know it's not my major so I'm not sure. But I really like doing it. For now I guess I'll continue on and try to balance everything out :)

Clark Tournament

So this week at school was the Clark Tournament. I went Monday and Thursday and got some pretty good pictures. I'm not really sure what my next move is though. I'm slightly upset because one of the games I was at published a story without pictures. But these are the other ones...

Anyways. I don't understand because these are the ones they usually publish in newspapers and such. But these are some of my pictures from this week...

So I don't know if these are acceptable for the newspaper or what? I don't have a good enough camera to zoom in as much as they do. However, I don't know. I must go. Stuff is happening in my room. Oh wow.

Thursday, February 18, 2010

Hello, this is just going to be an update about the stuff going on in my life photography wise.
1. I am so frustrated with cmail, it has been down the past couple days and I haven't been able to get on to do anything or contact anyone. I had to send the ice hockey guy a Facebook message, jeez.
2. The Stir Ice Hockey story is unfortunately not going to work out. I talked to the guy on the team writing the article and he said their season is already over which means there are no future opportunities to take pictures. However, they already have some that someone else took of their games. So he's all set. He was really nice about it though, it's just kind of sad. I was excited about it.
3. I went to the website for T&G and looked at all their contact information and got really intimidated. They have lots of sports staff and photographers listed and it scared me. Because I know that my pictures are good, especially considering what camera I'm using and that I'm only a college student. But does that really make them good in the real world and more valuable than pictures they can already get from people on their staff? You know? They already have people they're paying to go out and take pictures for them - so why would they need me? And if I do send something to either the sports or photography staff - what exactly do I say? Because if I say that I saw their picture from the game Monday which I was also taking pictures at and I have some that are just as good - do I sound cocky? Because I feel like that would not be a good way to start off. But then again if I'm not confident enough they won't believe that I can do it or that I'm good enough. You know? Herein lies my dilemma. And do I ask if they want to use some of my pictures or do I ask if they have an intern position open or ... ? I'm not really sure how all of this works. I have so many questions. I just don't want to say the wrong thing to start off with and then ruin any chances I have at working for them. Because I still do have 3 years left in Worcester so that'd be a pretty decent job to potentially have. However, as you can see - just like at games, I'm not confident enough or pushy enough. And I know those are qualities you need to have to succeed in the real world because I'm going to have to fight for a job or what I want but I guess I'm just scared. I don't know if I'm ready for a real job with deadlines and assignments. What if I did horribly at an assignment? I mean I haven't shot every sport before and sometimes it doesn't turn out too well. And it's one thing when I'm taking them for class or for my own personal experience/benefit but if I'm getting paid to do it and I'm failing... ahhh. And my camera isn't exactly advanced either but I don't know if they let you use their equipment? And then there's transportation issues because I don't drive and cabs are too much and I have no idea how the bus system works. It's just like all these things that I'm scared aren't going to work before I even get any opportunity. I don't even why I'm thinking about all of this now. I guess it's just because I am shooting the same thing that they're shooting - the Clark tournament. Sadly, I don't have any pictures for you at the moment to post on my blog because I wanted to see what everyone in class responded too first before I converted them to jpegs. So hopefully I will have a few up for this weekend? Even though everyone in class has already seen them and everyone at home who reads my blog is coming to visit and could just look at my contact sheets.
4. I'm going to see the gallery this weekend, finally. I'm excited. I hope that makes me feel more confident about everything.

I'm going to go now. I have to eat something before class because I think I'm going to another game right after class. Sorry for the length of this one, I just needed to get this all out I guess.

Saturday, February 13, 2010

Hello. So let's see what I have to say this week. These are obviously Clark basketball pictures from the girls game I went to. I have a contact sheet to show in class as well. But I really think this one at the bottom is my favorite basketball picture I have taken thus far. Sadly, since I don't know much about basketball and the game is so fast paced I honestly cannot tell if it's a rebound, after a foul shot or an actual attempted shot. I mean I do shoot with burst so I could go back through the pictures and try to find out, which I think I will - but I can only do that in the lab unfortunately. Anyways, I also really like the top image because it's different than what I've been able to capture before and you can see her face so much more. I was in the "endzone" for these ones and in some instances it worked well but it's also very hard because there are always so many players around sometimes it's difficult to isolate the action. Someone's arm or leg or entire body always ends up getting in the way at the precious perfect moment and it bothers me. But I guess that's sports, haha. I also an in conflict about whether or not I like the way the light is reflecting on the court. I think in some instances it can be very distracting and I might burn it down? I don't really know. But I guess that's not really important.

These are two of the pictures I did end up submitting to the Scarlet this week, but I am at home this weekend so I'm not sure if it's out yet - it wasn't Thursday when I checked. But this will be my second issue and I'm excited. I'm having a lot of difficult writing captions though. It's really hard not to be repetitive and I don't know enough of the language not to be. I even tried searching basketball captions online and they all tend to be repetitive. I am easily getting sick of shooting basketball though. This was only my third game and the shots seem very similar and I get easily bored at the game. I'm not sure if it was just my mood that day but I really wasn't as excited as I normally am to take pictures. I think it may have something to do with the captions too because I feel like those get very repetitive so I think my pictures are very repetitive but they're not really. And I do definitely have room to improve so I should keep trying. There's the "Clark Tournament" on Monday at least I know in the gym so I'm going to go to that. Hopefully it'll re-inspire me.

I'm just having a lot of trouble getting back into this. The winter sports schedule didn't work well for me and there weren't many games or a variety of sports in general. It just seems difficult. But spring is just around the corner.

In other news, I still have not been to see the gallery which is depressing - I hate not having a car and being afraid to walk there by myself. But I am definitely going Saturday - I know that. My parents and my boyfriend are coming up and we're all going so I will finally see it then if not Tuesday when another friend from home may come up. I just have been having mixed emotions about everything. But I have decided on the fact that this is a big accomplishment for me and I should be proud of it and I should want other people to see it and be proud of me too. Which brings me to my next point - Frank thinks I should start my own website. I'm excited, I just have to figure out how to do everything.

I really like the layout and design of this one. Not like I really know much about website design. I just really like her photography in general. I have no idea how I even found this site either. She obviously does posed portraits and shoots, weddings and such. But I just really like the emotion and excitement she has in each picture. There's just so much happiness. Anyways, that's not really important. This is an incredibly long blog post. I should probably go. I'm going to see Valentine's Day today! YAY! And we're also going to Olive Garden, which is amazing. I'm excited :) I just always seem to have so much going on in my brain but I have difficulty putting it into blog form. Everyone who reads my blog says that it read likes I'm talking to them and I feel like that's a good thing? Because that's my personality but I don't know if it should be more formal than that? I mean the idea is to work out ideas and such in our heads so if rambling and writing about whatever helps me I guess that's a good thing. So yup, until next time :P

ps: is this a more acceptable color for my header? I don't want it to be like black/gray/brown tones - that depresses me. I want some color on the page :/

So guess what?! I have officially been published in the Scarlet. YAY! In my opinion, these are my 3 favorites from the WPI game and they were also the favorites in class along with one other one that I guess at the time I did not realize was good or did not want to edit for the Scarlet so I don't have a jpeg image of it unfortunately. But I pretty much got my own page in the newspaper, it's so exciting. Because their sports section is on the back and so I picked it up and got slightly upset when I saw two articles taking up the whole page and then a friend of mine began flipping through it and she saw that on the next to last page was a spread of my pictures along with the puzzles. I know it's nothing that special and the quality is slightly bad and it's black and white but it just makes me feel a little bit better about everything. It makes me feel like I'm honestly using my pictures for something. I know that everyone is saying they're good and whatnot but I really feel like what's the use if they players don't actually see them? Most sports players love pictures of themselves so I'd really like to actually put them out there. Which reminds me, my soccer picture from Holy Cross (the one of the guy in the air that is obviously a foul) got into the art show! YAY! But it just makes me laugh because the art show is a consortium show so what if he ends up seeing it or a friend of his does. I would honestly be thrilled. I am thrilled that it's in the show to begin with but that would make me even happier.

Onto other things, these were some of my first basketball pictures. I had taken some over break of my high school team but no one in class really liked any of them and those were ... less intense? They were only JV basketball and it was more me taking pictures of my best friend's brother and my neighbor and I feel like I didn't get many good ones. But I shot the girls game yesterday and the new lens really did help (THANKS FRANK). I was in the "endzone" too (I know that's what it's called in football so we're just going to go with it). So I think I did good, I hope. I will find out tomorrow when I upload them I guess. I feel like I didn't take as many as I normally do though, I didn't even fill one whole card - it's weird. I know I did go a little late because we had rehearsal for the Woo Dance Plus but I wasn't that late. Oh well, I tried. The winter season is almost over though which is kind of sad because in the in between season I need games which is why I think I resorted to dance last semester. But none of the choreographers are that far along because we've only been doing it for about a week or so. I guess I'll figure something out. But I really like the one of the crowd in this set. It's different from what I normally do. And honestly, Frank has been telling me to get crowd shots but the only games I have ever been to where there has been an actual crowd have been Southern New Hampshire games and the lighting is always horrible because of the way their field is set up. But I am going to try to make a more conscious effort and I can even attempt to zoom in to make it look like more people? I don't know. We will see I guess.
