Hello world. How is everyone? I'm doing better even though the rain is ruining everything, ugh. It better not be raining tomorrow for the lacrosse game, unacceptable. So last night I officially started putting my book together, I decided it's going to be 13x11 hardcover with a single photo on the front - except I haven't made up my mind about which photo or a title. And then I condensed my fall sports into about 20 pages I believe but that means on some pages there are multiple smaller pictures but I tried to make them the not really good ones. I tried to put all the really good ones big. But I don't know, because they're small. But if I put one picture on every page that's A LOT of pages and that's boring as well. I don't know, but it's easier than I thought so I'm a little less stressed about it now. I really like their software because they give you layouts but then you can edit them any way you want if necessary, which is very nice. But if anyone has any title ideas? Hm? I can only think of cheesy ones, incredibly cheesy ones like "For the Love of the Game", "Get Your Head in the Game", "Passion", "Determination" - I basically have no idea. I keep thinking of song lyrics or movie quotes and I don't think that works very well. But I'm going to continue working and we'll see how it goes I guess. But I can also move the pages around in whatever order I want even after I put them together so if I decide to not organize it by season I can change that later. Because not many people answered my questions when I posed them but I talked to Dad and Kate about the organization of them and we all came to the conclusion that I could make the separate seasons work. So I'm trying that-kind of like we did for yearbook except not.

Moving on...These baseball and softball pictures are from not this past weekend but the weekend before. These are just my favorites I think. The softball ones were in the paper but as I said in my last post, they didn't have room for the baseball ones. But I guess I did pretty okay? I just didn't get very many pictures of the outfield. There's not really much action out there to be honest. And if there is, it's kind of boring. There were a few, literally a few, diving catches or stuff like that but I wasn't on the right shutter speed or focused there or there were other players in the way - there are lots of factors that need to be precisely right for it to work out. But hopefully I will get the chance to try again if it ever stops raining when they're supposed to have games, ugh. But I am going to go now, either work on my book a bit more or get some other stuff done so I can work on it later tonight. That's the other nice thing - I can actually do it on my computer and it's one of those things that I can do late and night because it's fun and it doesn't make me fall asleep, haha. It's very convenient. Okay, adios personas :)

I really don't have much to say this week. Or at least not a lot that I feel like posting. Most other weeks I love to ramble on and make really long entries that no one really enjoys reading. But unfortunately this weekend I just wasn't feeling very chipper. I still am not. So the baseball and softball shooting went well. I was in the Scarlet again - just the softball ones - which was kind of upsetting. But then Stephen emailed me and said he wanted to put the baseball ones in but they had to run an ad that couldn't be resized so they didn't have space. Sad times. But he was nice about it. But there's not much else to report.

It's spring! :) Anyways, that obviously means spring sports! And how excited am I to get outside and take pictures of new sports (as I'm sure everyone in my class is because they're tired of seeing basketball pictures, haha)! But yesterday I went to a softball game and I think I did... okay ... ish. It was more difficult than I had anticipated. But I tried. I think I got a few decent shots but we will see on Monday when I head to the lab to look them over. Sadly, I don't have time today because I'm going to more games - baseball and I believe that's it for now. But I didn't know for most softball games they play 2 in a row, one at 3 and one at 5. I mean I guess it makes sense to do less traveling but that's kind of odd. I wonder if baseball is the same? I actually stood in the fence though, I got special permission :) but I was careful, don't worry. I didn't get hit with any foul balls or anything. I don't know how the field today will be set up but I'll figure it out. I'm not really sure what a good softball/baseball shot is though. Obviously someone hitting the ball but what else... the pitcher pitching? someone sliding into a base - which didn't happen at all? someone in the outfield catching it - but that was kind of a boring shot? I have to look at some images I guess. I'm really not sure. But I always seem to put my own spin on things anyways so I guess it doesn't really matter. I don't conform completely. But moving on.

I officially started work on my book the other day. I didn't get very far because I don't have most of my images in the right size/format - so I have to do that before I can really start. But I have three major survey questions to pose. 1. Should I do the cover with one big picture on it instead of mostly black with a few small ones? I think I like the look of the one big one better but I don't know which one I would use...? 2. Any creative ideas for a title? 3. Should I organize the sports by sport, by season, by game, randomly, etc...? Because I have more good ones of some sports than others and would it look weird if I only had pictures from one volleyball game and they were all right next to each other? Or if I have a few good ones from one soccer game should I put them together or mix them all in so it doesn't look weird? I can't figure out if once I put my pages together I can move them around in the book. I decided I'm using the software they have to download because they have tons of layouts already made and it's easier that way and then all I have to do is resize my images in the lab and I can do everything on my own computer. I really need to get photoshop on my computer. Add that to the list. I should make a list. Let's see...

1. new longer, faster lens
2. monopod so I don't die trying to hold item number 1
3. photoshop CS4
4. (maybe) vertical holder thing
5. website
6. more memory cards

Wasn't that fun? Just reminds me of all the stuff I need. But let's be happy now. One of Kate's friends from home asked if I would photograph her wedding except she wants to see test shots which obviously I do not have because I've never shot a wedding before. I don't even know if I really could. Would I be good at it? Who knows. Well I am going to go because I have stuff to do before the game. Sorry this was so long, you know how I am - haha. Enjoy the sunshine! :)

Hi! So I wasn't sure if we were supposed to have a post this week but I decided I will anyways. I went to my cousin's basketball game the other night. I didn't get very many pictures because I actually sat down with my family and then Sofia (my little cousin) liked taking pictures too. She didn't quite grasp the concept but she kind of got it. She could press the button while she was
looking at it but she needed a little help, her fingers weren't strong enough. And then she got the idea of looking through the view finder. But I got a few good ish ones of my cousin. He's number 44 on the bottom left going for the block. And then these other pictures are of Alex, my boyfriend. He got his diploma in the mail the other day so we took some pictures. Since sadly he won't be walking. But this is what I've been doing with my week thus far. Or at least Monday. Today I'm hanging out with Laura and Karissa and we're hopefully going to take some pictures... maybe. Fun times. Anyways, I have to go get done now. Lost time - yay! :) Hope everyone is enjoying their break!

Hi :) Is everyone excited for Spring Break?! YES! Even though it seems I'm going to have lots of work and other stuff so I will be plenty busy. I guess I wouldn't be myself if I wasn't though. But anyways. Back to actual photography stuff. I have decided for my final for class I want to make a book. Originally I was really excited to make an intense nicely printed large folio - however, I think I have changed my mind.

This is the website I would use to make it so I'd just have to layout everything and add some passionate writing - maybe a few inspirational quotes and then they'd print it for me and mail it. And you can even order extra copies in case anyone wanted one. Whoa, haha. But I think it would be cool. And to be honest - it does have a lot to do with the fact that it would be easier to show people. It's more intimate I think. I don't know. I think it would be cool. But that means I have to work intensely these next couple weeks to get really good pictures of spring sports so I have enough of a variety. And guess what - I found someone who can take me to the rowing... meets? So I have rowing, lacrosse, tennis hopefully, baseball and softball. It is going to be an eventful March and April. But I feel like maybe over break I'll start playing around with the software to get some of my pictures thus far layed out or maybe write some of stuff I'm going to put in or search for some fun quotes. I'm just really excited and I want to start right away. So we will see how that goes. That can be my late night project since I don't think I'm taking home my TV. But I am really excited :) YAY
